2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Launch On June 15 – PHEV, Superscreen & More

Mercedes-Benz India is all geared up to launch the new 2026 S-Class facelift on June 15. This time around, the luxury sedan will be offered with a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain option. The new S450e hybrid variant will feature a 3.0L, six-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 120kW electric motor and a 22kWh battery pack. This setup delivers a combined power output of 449bhp and 680Nm of torque.

The new 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class PHEV, equipped with RWD (rear-wheel drive) system, accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds. It offers a claimed pure-electric range of up to 100kmph. The existing S450 petrol and S350d diesel variants will continue to be offered alongside the new plug-in hybrid version.

Petrol & Diesel Engines

The petrol version sources power from a 3.0L turbo petrol engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. It generates a maximum power of 404bhp and 500Nm of torque. Compared to the PHEV powertrain, the petrol mild hybrid engine is less powerful, but it comes with Mercedes’ 4Matic AWD drivetrain, and does 0 to 100kmph sprints in 4.9 seconds.

The sedan’s diesel version comes with a 3.0L, six-cylinder engine and 4WD system. Its output stands at 330bhp and 650Nm. All three powertrains will be available with Mercedes’ ZF 9-speed automatic gearbox.
