The 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is now on sale in India at Rs 2.20 crore for the Launch Edition Exclusive Line variant and Rs 2.38 crore for the Manufaktur Edition AMG Line. All prices are ex-showroom. Bookings are now open nationwide, while deliveries are slated to begin around the Diwali season.
The flagship sedan is exclusively offered in the S 450e plug-in hybrid guise for the Indian market. It receives noticeable design, feature and tech upgrades along with a new electrified powertrain for the first time.
Plug-n Hybrid Powertrain
The plug-in hybrid S 450e version features a 3.0L turbocharged inline-six petrol engine with a rear-mounted electric motor and a 22kWh battery pack. This setup delivers a massive power of 435bhp and 680Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The sedan offers a claimed pure electric range of up to 115km, and a combined fuel efficiency of 32.2kmpl (WLTP). The new S-Class accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds. The battery pack can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes by using a 60kW DC fast charger.
New Features & Tech
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class offers a more advanced and tech-loaded interior, enhancing its comfort and luxury quotient. The sedan now offers a new MBUX ‘Superscreen’, featuring a 14.4-inch OLED touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. The MBUX, which runs on Mercedes-Benz’s latest MB.OS operating system, offers OTA (over-the-air) updates and improved AI-based assistance.
Other key features include a massive 13.1-inch rear entertainment screens, a four-zone automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Burmester 4D audio system, executive rear seats, improve NVH levels, extended ambient lighting, multiple airbags, driver assistance system, adaptive air suspension with the ‘E-Active Body Control’ and more.
Design Highlights
On the exterior, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class features a new larger grille with chrome garnished three-pointed star elements, ‘Digital Light’ LED headlamps, a revised bumper with large air intakes, newly-designed alloy wheels and new LED taillamps with dynamic light animations and illuminated three-pointed start motifs.
