Following the Skoda Kushaq facelift, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is set to introduce the new 2026 Volkswagen Taigun with noticeable design changes and feature upgrades. The lineup is likely to retain the existing TSI petrol engines and gearbox options.
Recently, a semi-camouflaged test mule of the updated Taigun was caught on camera featuring a large grille with gloss black elements and a D-shaped silver plate, and redesigned headlamps with a connected LED light bar at the front end.

The side profile will be revised with the newly-designed alloy wheels and promonent black cladding all around, while the rear section will look refreshing with updated taillamp clusters. No dimensional changes are expected. Similar to the pre-facelift, the updated Taigun will continue to measure 4,221mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,612mm in height with a wheelbase of 2651mm.
More Features
Official details are still under the wraps. However, the new 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to receive changes similar to the new Kushaq. This means, the SUV might come with a new cabin theme and features such as a panoramic sunroof, a new digital driver’s display, updated infotainment software and rear seats with massage function.
New AT Gearbox, Same Engines
As mentioned above, the engine setup remains unchanged. The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift will continue to use the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engines, delivering a maximum power of 115PS with 178Nm and 150PS with 250Nm, respectively.
The existing 6-speed automatic gearbox available with the 1.0L turbo-petrol engine could be replaced with a new 8-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. The same engine will also be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L TSI petrol engine will continue to come exclusively with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Minor Price Hike?
A minimal price hike is expected of the new 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The current lineup is available is priced between Rs 11.42 lakh – rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
