3 New Tata SUVs Coming Soon; Next-Gen Nexon Among Them


Tata Motors plans to expand its Indian product portfolio from nine to 15 models by FY2031. The upcoming range will six new nameplates, facelifts, new derivatives, feature additions and powertrain updates across its existing lineup. Meanwhile, the homegrown automaker is gearing up to launch three important SUVs targeting different segments, including the Tata Safari EV, Tata Avinya and the next-generation Tata Nexon.

2026 Tata Safari EV

Tata Safari EV is aimed at tapping into the premium three-row electric SUV segment, which is currently dominated by the Mahindra XEV 9S. Tata Motors has confirmed that the EV will go on sale during the 2026 Diwali season. While its official powertrain details are yet to be announced, the electric SUV is expected to be offered with the Harrier EV’s 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options. It’s expected to deliver a range of over 500km on a single charge.

2027 Tata Avinya

Tata will establish an independent identity in the luxury EV segment with the introduction of the Avinya sub-brand introduction in early 2027. The first model to come under this umbrella will be a sportback based on Tata’s next-gen EV architecture. It could be showcased in its production-ready version at the Bharat Mobility Show in February, 2027. Similar to the concept, the final version is expected to feature futuristic styling and, a coupe-like stance.

2027 Tata Nexon

The next-generation Tata Nexon will further strengthen Tata’s presence in the highly competitive sub-4 metre SUV segment. The all-new model is expected to feature a significantly revised design, a more premium interior, advanced tech and efficient powertrain options. Spy shots suggest that the SUV will feature a more upright and boxier stance, a flatter roofline and revised pillars.  

Tata is also likely to revise the interior with several new features, including an updated digital instrument cluster, more physical buttons and other additions. The existing petrol, turbo-petrol and CNG powertrain options are expected to be carried over.
