Kia India aims to strengthen its presence in the SUV market with a range of new products over the next few years. The upcoming models will be offered with multiple powertrains including ICE (internal combustion engine), hybrid and electric. By 2027, the South Korean automaker will introduce the next-generation Seltos, Syros EV and Sorento three-row SUV. Here’s a look at the key details of these upcoming Kia SUVs.

New-gen Kia Seltos

The second-generation Kia Seltos is set to make its global debut on 10th December 2025, while its India launch is expected in early 2026. Official details are yet to be revealed. The 2026 Kia Seltos is likely be longer and wider than the existing model, and could derive design inspiration from the global-spec Telluride.
Under the hood, the SUV will continue to house the 115bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and 116bhp, 1.5L diesel engines. As per media reports, the diesel engine could be offered with a new 7-speed automatic gearbox instead of the existing 6-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid variant will join the lineup in 2027.
Kia Syros EV

The Kia Syros EV is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026. The electric SUV will continue to feature the signature boxy and upright stance, though a few EV-specific changes could be made to its exterior and interior. Spy images confirm that the Syros EV will feature a charging port on the front right fender.
Powertrain details are still under the wraps. The Kia Syros EV is likely to borrow the 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs from the Hyundai Inster EV, which is slated to hit Indian shores in 2026. A FWD (front-wheel drive) system will likely be standard.
Kia Sorento

The Kia Sorento will be one of the brand’s first hybrid model in India. To be positioned above the Seltos, this 7-seater hybrid SUV is expected to arrive in 2027. While global model is available with a 1.6L turbo petrol-hybrid and 1.6L plug-in hybrid powertrain setup, the India-spec version is likely to use a hybridize 1.5L petrol engine.
The India-spec Sorento’s design and cabin layout will be nearly identical to its global counterpart. The SUV is expected to offer features such as a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic curved screen setup, a head-up display (HUD), Level 1 ADAS and more.
