468km Range, Lifetime Battery Warranty


The new 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift has finally been launched in India. Prices of the updated lineup start from Rs 9.69 lakh for the entry-level variant, and go up to Rs 12.59 lakh for the top-end trim. With BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service), the EV costs from Rs 6.49 lakh + battery EMI of Rs 2.6 per km. With this price bracket, it becomes the brand’s most affordable electric vehicle in India. The new Tata Punch EV has received noticeable design changes, feature enhancements and mechanical upgrades.

The carmaker claims that the updated Punch EV addresses three major entry-level EV adoption concerns, including faster charging capabilities, extended driving range and a lifetime battery warranty.

Tata is now offering a lifetime battery warranty with unlimited kilometres on the EV. The model underpins Acti.ev platform, which consists of the chassis, powertrain, electrical and cloud architecture. It offers optimized packaging with a 50 percent smaller size, 28 percent lower weight and 6 percent better performance, thanks to its 6-1 E-drive system. Here’re all key details of the new Punch EV.

New Tata Punch EV Larger Battery & Range

One of the biggest upgrades comes in the form of a larger 40kWh battery pack, paired with a 95kW electric motor. It’s claimed to offer an ARAI certified range of 468km and nearly 355km in real world conditions. The new battery with LFP prismatic cells is claimed to offer higher energy density, a wider operating temperature band, higher energy capacity and a faster charging rate.

Furthermore, the EV has been benefited with an electronically thermos expansion valve for the first time. It optimizes refrigerant flow, resulting in faster and more accurate respond while minimising excess load. It also aids cabin comfort. The updated Punch EV can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in just under 9 seconds. It offers three drive modes – City, Eco and Sport along with the multi-regeneration levels (four modes) controlled via paddle shifters.

Other Battery Options

The 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift is also available with the 30kWh battery pack, paired with a front-mounted electric motor. It offers 122bhp and 190Nm, and a claimed range of 365km on a full charge.

Charging Options

The EV now supports a faster charging system with a 65kW fast charger, and takes just 26 minutes to charge from 20 to 80 percent, offering range top-up of 135km in 15 minutes. Charging options also includes a 7.2kW wallbox charger and a 3.3kW home charger. All new home chargers come with an illuminated charging status indicator.

The EV has a ground clearance of 195mm and a water wading depth of 450mm. It carries a kerb weight of 1360 kg, ensuring better stability.

The Punch EV facelift offers 6 airbags and i-High beam assist with smart detection and alerts as standard along with the hill hold assist, electronic stability program, i-TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) and Isofix mounts.
