The coming weeks will be action-packed for the Indian automotive industry, as carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, JSW MG Motors, Renault and Nissan are gearing up for multiple product launches and unveilings. The Tata Sierra EV is set to go on sale tomorrow (June 30), while the updated Renault Kwid and the all-new Nissan Tekton midsize SUV will debut on July 3 and 9, respectively.
JSW MG Motors has also confirmed the debut of a ‘new energy vehicle’ on July 9, which is expected to be based on the China-spec Wuling Starlight 560 plug-in hybrid SUV. Meanwhile, the new Maruti Brezza and Honda ZR-V facelifts are also slated to launch in July, 2026.
Tata Sierra EV
The Tata Sierra EV will be available with two battery options – 65kWh and 75kWh – borrowed from the Harrier EV. While its official driving range is yet to be revealed, the electric SUV is expected to offer a range of over 500km on a single charge. Higher trims will be exclusively available with Tata’s QWD dual-motor setup.
Renault Kwid Facelift
The new 2026 Renault Kwid facelift is likely to come subtle design changes and feature upgrades inspired by the Dacia Spring. The hatchback lineup is expected to retain the existing 1.0L petrol engine and transmission options.
Nissan Tekton
The Nissan Tekton will be offered with the 1.0L turbo and 1.3L turbo petrol engines, sourced from the Renault Duster. Its overall design and styling will be inspired by the Nissan Patrol, while the platform, powertrain, interior and several features will be shared with the Duster.
MG Plug-in Hybrid
The MG plug-in hybrid SUV is expected to share its powertrain with the Wuling Starlight 560 sold in China. The PHEV version features a 1.5L petrol engine paired with a 20.5kWh battery pack, delivering a combined power of 197bhp and 230Nm of torque.
Maruti Brezza Facelift
The new 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift is likely to be offered with the Fronx’s 1.0L turbo Boosterjet petrol engine, paired with a new 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, which powers the current model, will also be carried forward.
Honda ZR-V
In India, the Honda ZR-V will be offered with a 2.0L, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual-motor strong hybrid system. Its combined output stand at 184bhp and 315Nm. The hybrid SUV comes equipped with an e-CVT automatic gearbox and a FWD system.
