Maruti Suzuki aims to strengthen its market with the launch of nine new models over the next three years including seven SUVs. Additionally, the carmaker is targeting to reduce product development timelines by 25 percent from 48 months to 36 months. This move is a part its strategy to manage the upcoming model lineup with multiple powertrain options including petrol, CNG, electric, hybrid and flex-fuel. To achieve its targets, Maruti Suzuki will heavily rely on simulation-led development, AI and machine learning.
Upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs/MPVs By FY2027
Meanwhile, the Indo-Japanese automaker is gearing up to expand its portfolio with seven new models including facelifts and all-new products by FY2027. The new 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift is set to launch in July 2026, while the Grand Vitara, Baleno and Ertiga facelifts are expected to arrive in the second half of 2026.
The upcoming facelifted models are expected to receive minimal design changes and feature upgrades, while retaining their engine options. The MY2026 Maruti Brezza lineup is likely to be available with the Fronx’s 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine along with an underbody-mounted CNG tank for the CNG version.
Maruti Suzuki is also preparing a three-row premium SUV, which is expected to be based on the updated Grand Vitara. The model will share its platform, design, features, petrol and hybrid powertrains with the 5-seater counterpart. However, the stretched length, an additional row of seats and a few design upgrades will differentiate it from the regular Grand Vitara.
The carmaker has also planned an all-new electric MPV for the Indian market, codenamed Maruti YMC. It’s likely to share its platform and powertrain with the Maruti Suzuki eVitara. While its official launch timeline is yet to be announced, the model is expected to arrive in late 2026.
The new Maruti Fronx facelift has been on test for a very long time now, and is expected to launch in the first half of 2027. The updated lineup will mark debut of Maruti Suzuki’s in-house developed series strong hybrid powertrain, which is reported to deliver a fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.
