7-Seater Electric Cars in India 2026 – Affordable to Luxury


EV (electric vehicle) segment is gradually gaining more traction in India, driven by government policies, raising market demand and an increasing range of options across price segments. The 7-seater EV category has recently emerged as a new battleground, with carmakers such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Vinfast, BYD, Kia and MG introducing their products. More models are in the pipeline to join the badgwagon in the coming years.

Here’s a brief overview of the currently available 7-seater electric cars across both mass-market and luxury segments in India.

Kia Carens Clavis EV

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is currently the most affordable mass-market 7-seater electric offering in India, priced from Rs 17.99 lakh onwards. The lineup is available with two battery pack options – a 42kWh and 51.4kWh – delivering a claimed ARAI range of 404km and 490km, respectively.

Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S comes in four variants, Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above, priced between Rs 19.95 lakh – Rs 29.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can choose from three battery pack options – 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh – promising a range of 521km, 600km and 679km, respectively.

BYD eMax 7

Priced between Rs 26.90 lakh – Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the BYD eMax 7 is one of the most practical options in its segment. The lineup comes in two variants – Premium with a 55.4kWh and Superior with a 71.8kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 420km and 530km, respectively.

Vinfast VF MPV 7

The newly-launched Vinfast VF MPV 7 is offered in a single variant priced at Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The 7-seater electric MPV uses a 60.13kWH battery pack, and returns an ARAI-claimed range of 517km on a single charge.

MG M9

The MG M9 is a chauffeur-driven luxury 7-seater electric MP, priced at Rs 70.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Sold exclusively via MG Select retail network, the MPV comes in a single, fully-loaded variant featuring a 90kWh NMC battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor. The M9 offers an MIDC-certified range of 548km per charge.

Mercedes-Benz EQB

The Mercedes-Benz EQB is being offered in two variants – 250+ and 350 4Matic – both equipped with a 70.5kWh battery pack. The EQB 250+ features a single electric motor, while the EQB 350 4Matic gets dual-motor setup. The former delivers a claimed driving range of 447km, while the latter offers 535km. Prices range from Rs 72.20 lakh to Rs 78.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz EQS

The Mercedes-Benz EQS caters the ultra-luxury segment, with prices exceeding Rs 1 crore. The lineup is available in two variants – EQS 580 4MATIC Celebration Edition and EQSS 580 4Matic – priced at Rs 1.30 crore and Rs 1.63 crore, respectively. The model offers a claimed driving range between 611km – 820km.
