Hyundai Motor India has inaugurated Public 120 kW DC fast-charging stations in New Delhi on World EV Day 2026. The newly inaugurated charging stations will offer EV users convenient access to fast-charging facilities, helping reduce charging time and enhancing confidence in electric vehicle ownership.
HMIL’s current EV portfolio comprises the IONIQ 5 and the CRETA Electric, with plans to introduce a dedicated localized SUV EV soon.
How is HMIL Expanding Access to Convenient EV Charging?
§ Marking World EV Day, HMIL has inaugurated EV charging stations with advanced 120 kW DC fast-chargers in Delhi, the stations can be accessed through myHyundai app and other major charging-management applications. These DC fast EV charging station infrastructure in Delhi is being established in partnership with Statiq
§ As a special World EV Day initiative, Hyundai EV owners can avail complimentary charging from September 9 to September 11, 2026, across HMIL-owned public charging stations by accessing them through myHyundai app
§ Currently HMIL operates 185 DC fast-charging stations across 105 cities and plans to scale its proprietary network to 600 stations by 2030 across key cities, highways and Hyundai dealerships. Its DC fast-charging solutions range from 60 kW to 240 kW, supporting convenient and efficient charging for EV users
§ HMIL also provides EV users access to over 38,000 charging points through the myHyundai app, enabled through partnerships with multiple Charge Point Operators. The app supports charging-station discovery, navigation, advance booking and digital payments, and is open to EV customers across brands
How is HMIL Building Specialised Service Capabilities to Enhance Customer Confidence?
§ HMIL has over 2,600 trained dealership personnel available across relevant EV service functions. The company plans to train an additional 5,000 service personnel by end of FY26-27, covering technicians, service staff, service managers and other dealership personnel involved in the EV customer journey
§ To date, HMIL has delivered approximately 16,000 person-days of EV service training. The company has also invested approximately INR 2 crore in making its training centres EV-ready
§ These programmes combine certification-based learning with model-specific modules and practical instruction covering high-voltage safety, EV diagnostics, battery handling and specialised repair procedures
§ HMIL aims to ensure that customers have access to appropriately trained professionals, safe repair practices and consistent service quality as the company’s electric vehicle portfolio and customer base continue to expand
§ HMIL’s EV-ready workshops are also supported by specialised equipment and safety infrastructure including Personal Protective Equipment kits, insulated tools, EV chargers, EV battery-handling trolleys and relevant Special Service Tools
How is HMIL preparing its Sales Network for its upcoming EV models?
§ Training forms an important part of this readiness, till date 10,000+ sales personnel have been trained by HMIL, with a target of 17,000+ trained sales personnel by end of FY26-27
§ These interventions are designed to enable dealership teams to effectively explain EV technology, charging requirements, vehicle capabilities, ownership considerations and the benefits of electric mobility
§ As part of its customer-first approach, HMIL is also strengthening its EV sales network to ensure customers receive informed guidance during the consideration & purchase phase, significantly broadening customer access to Hyundai electric vehicles
