The Skoda Kodiaq RS India launch has been confirmed for June 2026. It will become the first performance SUV from the Czech automaker in the Indian market. Compared to the standard model, the RS version will look sportier and feature a more powerful TSI petrol engine.

Unlike the regular Kodiaq, which is brought to India via a CKD route, the performance iteration is likely to arrive as a CBU (Completely Built Up) unit with an estimated price of around Rs 55 lakh – Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, the Kodiaq RS will take directly on the upcoming MG Majestor and Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.

Engine & Performance

Starting with the powertrain, the Skoda Kodiaq RS will use the 2.0L TSI petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission). This is the same motor that previously powered the Skoda Octavia RS. The engine pushes out a maximum power of 265bhp and 400Nm of torque, making it nearly 60bhp more powerful than the standard Kodiaq. The performance SUV will come with an AWD (all-wheel drive) system.

The Kodiaq RS accelerates 0 to 100kmph in just 6.3 seconds, and is capable of achieving a top speed of 231bhp. Further enhancing its performance will be upgraded braking components, including slotted brake discs and front-axle mounted two-pot callipers. While the global-spec model gets adaptive dampers as standard, their availability on the India-spec version is yet to be confirmed.

Sportier Design Elements

On the exterior, the performance SUV will feature a blacked-out grille, a revised front bumper, a blacked-out C-pillar and newly-designed 20-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers. The blacked-out treatment on the ORVMs, roof rails and window frames will further enhance its sportier looks.

Interior Highlights

The sporty theme will continue inside the cabin as well. The Skoda Kodiaq RS will offer an all-black cabin theme with contrast red stitching and accents. The bolstered seats with RS branding on the headrests will further distinguish it from the regular Kodiaq.
