Xiaomi’s last foldable, the Mix Fold 4, was unveiled nearly two years ago in July 2024. Now, a new report suggests the company may finally be preparing to announce its successor.
According to the report, a next-generation Xiaomi foldable has been spotted in the Mi Code database. The device bears the model number 2608BPX34C and is codenamed ‘lhasa’. It also carries the internal designation Q18, where the number 18 is reportedly used for Xiaomi’s foldable lineup.

The report suggests the device in the database is likely the Mix Fold 5, although Xiaomi may choose to market it as the Xiaomi 17 Fold.
The code further reveals that the foldable will be powered by the Xring O3 chipset, Xiaomi’s in-house SoC. Notably, the company introduced the Xring O1 last year with the Xiaomi 15S Pro and the Pad 7S Pro.
The report claims that Xiaomi could unveil the Mix Fold 5 in August this year. The device is said to be limited to the Chinese market and may be priced at around $1,399.
