Xiaomi recently revealed that the Redmi Note 17 will have a 7” screen – once upon a time this would have been a tablet, not a phone. The company also confirmed that the phone will have an 8,000mAh battery, which isn’t small, but it is smaller than the 9,000mAh battery of the Redmi Note 17 Pro.

Display card with Redmi Note 17 details
Someone took a photo of a display card (shared by Android Treasure) – this card revealed some additional details. For starters, the phone will support 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. For comparison, the Pro model will do 67W charging.
The rather large display will be protected by Gorilla Glass (version unknown) and it will reach 1,800 nits of brightness. Speaking of protection, the phone will be rated IP65 (vs. IP69K for the Pro). Mind you, this is for the Chinese model – it’s not clear how much of this will transfer over to the global release.

Anyway, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. This is a relatively recent entry-level 5G chipset fabbed on a 4nm node. RAM and storage options were not listed on the card, unfortunately. A Geekbench result showed 12GB of RAM.
Official images of the phone show that the phone will have a single 50MP camera – this camera will have some AI features. Additionally, the phone will have stereo speakers with 200% volume boost.
