According to a new report, Apple could launch its Apple Pay payment service in India as soon as next month. The service is currently available in more than 90 countries worldwide.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that Apple will launch Apple Pay in India by the end of October.

While Gurman did not provide any further details about the service, a recent Reuters report claimed that Apple will initially roll out Apple Pay in partnership with Axis Bank credit cards.

The report also noted that Apple has been in discussions with HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank to add their credit cards to the service. An earlier Bloomberg report made similar claims and suggested that Apple Pay could also support UPI in India.

India is one of the world’s largest digital payments markets, with established services such as Google Pay, PhonePe, and others already widely used across the country.
