According to a new rumor, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will be completely redesigned. This would be the first time Apple changed the design of its most expensive smartwatch since the original Apple Watch Ultra launched back in 2022. Unfortunately, no details about what the Watch Ultra 4 would look like have actually been outed, we are just to expect a big change.
The device will also come with a “significant upgrade to sensing functions”, the same source claims. It’s unclear if this means that new sensors will be added, or the Watch Ultra 4 will still have the same types of sensors as the Watch Ultra 3, just higher performance (and/or with better battery life).
Apple Watch Ultra 3
The upgrade to the sensor stack will be great news for Taiwan-Asia Semiconductor, Apple’s exclusive supplier of sensor components for the Apple Watch Ultra family, “with new products likely to trigger large-volume orders as early as July and outperforming the first half of the year during the traditional second-half peak season”, the report notes.
This timeline strongly hints at the fact that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the iPhone Ultra, in September. Apple will also be launching the AirPods Ultra at some point, and even a MacBook Ultra.
