Production controller N M Badusha has finally spoken after actor Hareesh Kanaran made serious allegations against him. Hareesh had earlier said that Badusha took Rs 20 lakh from him and did not return the money. He also claimed that Badusha played a role in keeping him away from films. Now, Badusha has come forward and strongly denied these claims. In a press meet, the producer said the full story is being twisted and that he is being targeted unfairly. According to him he never took Rs 20 lakh as Hareesh is claiming. He said the actual amount was much less and that part of it was already returned. As reported by News 18 Badusha said the issue is now being blown up and turned into something it is not. He also said he does not understand why Hareesh suddenly turned against him after many years.
Badusha explains the money matter
Badusha confirmed that he did take money from Hareesh but he said it was only Rs 14 lakh. He also said that when Hareesh asked for the money back he returned Rs 7 lakh.Badusha said the remaining amount was not a loan. According to him, that money was considered his payment for managing Hareesh’s dates for many years. “For five years, I handled Hareesh’s dates for 72 films. I never took any payment from him for that work and he also never felt the need to pay me. Later when I was going through a very difficult financial situation I asked him for money. I believed that amount could be treated as my payment for managing his dates all those years.” Badusha said.He also added that two other artists helped him during that time. “Two other artists understood what I was going through and supported me by giving me Rs 20 lakh as financial help.” he said.
ARM movie issue and ‘Rs 15 lakh demand’
Badusha also spoke clearly about what happened with the film ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’ also known as ‘ARM’. He said Hareesh was offered a role in the film for a payment of Rs 5 lakh.According to Badusha, Hareesh was not happy with that amount. “When Hareesh was offered the role in ‘ARM’ he asked for more money. The agreed amount was Rs 5 lakh but Hareesh demanded Rs 15 lakh as payment. Because of this the producer decided to look for another actor.” Badusha said.He also made a strong statement about Hareesh’s behaviour. “Hareesh has caused problems on many film sets. That could be the reason why he is not getting many films now. No one can stay in the spotlight forever. When new talents come forward, the older generation should step aside.”he said.Badusha added that after the issue he tried calling Hareesh many times, but Hareesh did not respond.
Family harassment and Nikhila clarification
Badusha said the allegations have badly affected his family. He said they faced a severe cyber attack after Hareesh spoke publicly.“After Hareesh made the allegation, my family went through heavy cyber attacks. My son even stopped going to college, and hateful comments were posted on my daughter’s social media too. We will take legal action against all this. I strongly feel there is a conspiracy behind it.” Badusha said, as reported by Cinema Express. When asked about actress Nikhila Vimal’s remarks Badusha said his name was dragged into the discussion without reason.“Nikhila did not mention my name. Whenever there is any comment related to cinema, my name inevitably appears in the social media discussion beneath it,” he said.He also clarified that while he worked with Nikhila on four films he was not the producer.“I worked on those films as part of the crew. When she says a producer owes her money, that does not automatically mean it was me,” Badusha added.Disclaimer: The information is based on claims as reported by a third-party source.
