At the end of this month, Samsung’s attention will shift towards launching the new Galaxy Z foldables – you can already pre-reserve one here. We know that some of you don’t care for foldables, so let’s have a look at what’s going on with Samsung’s slab flagships.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is under $1,000 yet again. This isn’t the lowest price we’ve seen for the 12/256GB model, but it’s within $50 or so. Unfortunately, the upgrade to 512GB storage is quite pricey at the moment. Amazon has the better deal on the 256GB variant and the same $1,300 price for the 512GB variant as Samsung.com, which offers a $200 instant discount if you don’t trade in an old phone.

If you do go the trade-in route, Samsung.com can knock up to $720 off the S26 Ultra price – but you’ll have to send in an S25 Ultra to hit that maximum credit. Would that be a worthy upgrade? Check out our Galaxy S25 Ultra vs. S26 Ultra article for more details (we also have a comparison video).

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is a lot cheaper when looking at the 512GB models, but you do sacrifice quite a bit when going with the Plus instead of the Ultra. And if you want a 256GB phone, then it’s just not worth it – the $80 extra for the S26 Ultra buys you a ton of features. The Samsung Galaxy S26 has okay but not spectacular discounts at the moment – a couple of weeks ago, we saw it at under $700 for a 256GB unit. If you want the small Galaxy and don’t need it right now, it’s probably better to wait a few weeks.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is at its lowest price in 30 days (for a 256GB unit). While we’re already seeing S26 FE leaks, it seems unlikely that Samsung will unveil the 2026 model this month – we expect to see the new FE in September. You could consider getting the S25 FE instead of the S26+ and upgrading it in a couple of years. It’s also a solid alternative to the Galaxy A57, especially when that one isn’t on sale.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Flip8 in a few weeks’ time, but it might arrive with a price hike. Meanwhile, Motorola offers cheap flip foldables with the Razr family. Last year’s vanilla model, the Motorola Razr 2025, is $130 or so cheaper than its 2026 replacement. And there isn’t much difference between the two – they have effectively the same screens and the same chipset.

That said, the Motorola Razr 2026 brings a better ultra-wide camera (50MP vs. 13MP), a slightly larger battery (4,800mAh vs. 4,500mAh) and faster storage (UFS 3.1 vs. UFS 2.2).

The Motorola Razr+ 2026 is a more premium model with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 instead of a Dimensity 7400-class chipset and UFS 4.0 storage to boot. So, you’ll certainly see increased performance, but there aren’t many other upgrades.

Earlier this week, a developer released software that hooks into the head tracking feature of Sony headphones to use for sim games. This allows you to “look around” in titles like Microsoft Flight Simulator and Assetto Corsa. The Sony WH-1000XM5 is one of the supported headsets and you can pick one up for $250. In-ear buds like the Sony WF-1000XM5 ($280) work as well.
