Honor’s Robot Phone was finally made official last week after many months of teasers and showcases. It’s definitely a unique device, with its integrated gimbal camera, even if it’s not actually a robot. That gimbal camera, though, contains a lot of moving parts, so if you drop the phone while it’s out, you might damage it.
In that case, you will have to pay a whopping CNY 3,079 ($457) to replace it. The number comes from Honor’s official website in China, where it just published its repair prices for the Robot Phone. Replacing the telephoto camera will cost CNY 879 ($130), while the ultrawide will set you back CNY 199 ($29). The huge delta between the three is due to the gimbal assembly itself, undoubtedly.

To replace the Robot Phone’s screen, you’ll shell out CNY 1,379 ($205), while a new battery will cost you CNY 319 ($47). The most expensive thing to replace isn’t even the gimbal camera, it’s the motherboard. For the 12/512GB version, this costs CNY 4,599 ($684), while for the 16GB/1TB variant, it’s a whopping CNY 6,599 ($981).
That’s a lot of money, but keep in mind that the phone itself costs CNY 9,999 ($1,487) with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and CNY 12,999 ($1,933) with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
