The HMD Asha 305 has been unveiled in the Philippines and is now available for purchase. Marketed as a “lite smartphone,” it is claimed to offer a step up from a feature phone and comes with Android AOSP, more than 100 selected apps, a removable battery, and basic hardware.
It is powered by a Unisoc T137 chipset, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
Up front, the HMD Asha 305 features a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 480 × 854 pixels.
For photography, the handset is equipped with a 2MP rear camera with an LED flash, while another 2MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
The phone packs a removable 2,500mAh battery, which HMD claims can deliver up to 32 hours of standby time.
On the software front, it runs Pulse OS, based on AOSP Android, and comes with access to more than 100 apps, including Facebook Lite, Instagram Lite, WhatsApp, TikTok Lite, YouTube, and more.
Connectivity options include dual 4G SIM support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The retail box includes the removable battery, a USB Type-C cable, and a charger.
The HMD Asha 305 is available in two color options and is priced at PHP 3,990 ($65). The handset is likely to roll out to additional markets in the coming weeks.
