Honda Cars India has outlined its plan to expand product portfolio with SUVs and EVs by 2030. The Japanese carmaker has confirmed the launch of its first full-electric model (based on the Elevate midsize SUV) for 2026. Media reports also suggest that the Elevate hybrid will be part of Honda’s 2026 product strategy. In addition, the Honda ZR-V might also make its way to India as a CBU (completely built unit) in late 2025 or early 2026.
Honda’s future roadmap also includes a new global platform – PF2 – which will be used for the brand’s future small and medium-size vehicles. The first model to be based on this architecture will be a three-row hybrid SUV, slated to arrive in 2027. It’s important to note that the launch timelines and product details mentioned here are based on the media reports, and official confirmation is still awaited.

Honda ZR-V
Honda is considering the ZR-V 5-seater hybrid SUV for India; however, the plan is yet to receive a final approval. Measuring 4.56 metres in length, the SUV is offered globally with a 20L petrol engine, paired with two electric motors, producing 180bhp. It also comes with an AWD system, while transmission duties are performed by an electric CVT gearbox. Being a premium global product, the ZR-V offers several advanced features including 12 speakers Bose sound system, wireless charging pad, multiple driving modes, Honda Connect suite, Honda Sensing suite (ADAS), 11 airbags and more.
Honda Elevate EV
As reported earlier, Honda is working on a compact EV project called ACE – Asian Compact Electric. The Elevate based electric SUV will be the first model to come under this project. Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan will serve as global production hub for the Elevate EV, and nearly 50 to 70 percent of units produced being exported to key international markets including Japan.
Honda Elevate Hybrid
As per media reports, Honda’s first hybrid SUV in India (based on the Elevate) will hit showrooms near around the 2026 Diwali season. While details of its powertrain are not yet available, the carmaker might use the City’s Atkinson Cycle 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain. Compared to its ICE counterpart, the Honda Elevate hybrid could be around Rs 2 lakh – Rs 2.5 lakh more expensive.
Honda Hybrid 7-Seater
Honda Cars India will introduce a new flagship SUV in 2027. It will be a three-row hybrid SUV, which will be positioned above the Elevate in the company’s product lineup. Its design and development procedure will be handled by Honda’s Japan and Thailand R&D centers with significant inputs from the Indian team. The upcoming Honda 7-seater hybrid SUV is expected to be offered with Elevate’s 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a strong hybrid powertrain. Its production will start by October, 2027.
