Honor Magic9 Pro to have two 200MP cameras, new rumor claims

During the unveiling of the Robot Phone, Honor also teased the upcoming Magic9 series, which is going to be unveiled in September. The company’s teaser image revealed that one of the devices will have a 200MP camera using a 1/1.4″ type sensor with OIS.

This is the same size as the Magic8 Pro‘s periscope telephoto camera. Now, Digital Chat Station on Weibo brings us some more details. According to him, the Magic9 Pro will have two 200MP cameras – that periscope telephoto with f/2.6 aperture, but also the main camera.

This will allegedly be using a 1/1.28″ type sensor and will have f/1.57 aperture. It will also have 3-degree OIS. The Magic9 Pro will also be among the first devices to use the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC, though it’s still not clear whether it will be the vanilla option or the Pro.

For reference, note that the Magic8 Pro has a 50MP main camera using a 1/1.3″ type sensor, with f/1.6 aperture. So the new camera has more pixels but a very similar size and aperture. The Magic9 series is allegedly due to be unveiled on September 28.
