Smartphone brands continue to explore new ways to improve the camera capabilities of their phones and partner with established companies in the imaging industry. The latest partnership announced during MWC 2026 is the one between Honor and ARRI.

For those unfamiliar with ARRI, it’s a German-based manufacturer of motion picture film equipment founded in 1917. It produces professional motion picture cameras, lenses, lighting and post-production equipment. Over the years, the company has won 20 different scientific and technical awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Together with Honor, ARRI aims to bring cinema-grade video recording capabilities to compact smartphones.
Our goal is to bring a true cinematic aesthetic to smartphone imaging — natural color, gentle highlight roll-off, and a sense of depth that feels authentic to how stories are meant to be seen. Creators should be able to move seamlessly from mobile capture into professional post-production workflows.
The first phone to debut with the Honor-ARRI collaboration is the Honor Robot Phone, scheduled to arrive later this year.
