Hyundai Records Highest-Ever April Sales 51,902 Units, 17% Growth

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has registered its highest-ever domestic sales for the month of April. The carmaker retailed a total of 51,902 units, recording a YoY growth of 17%. The company has also achieved monthly export sales of 13,708 units in April 2026.

Commenting on the monthly sales results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, HMIL, said that the company has kicked off “the new financial year on a strong note, carrying forward the momentum built in recent months into April 2026.”

The impressive sales figures reflect the overwhelming response to new Hyundai models including the new Exter, Verna, Ioniq 5, Creta Summer Edition, Grand i10 Nios Vibe Edition and Venue Knight Edition. The Hyundai Venue recorded its best-ever monthly domestic sales of 12,420 units, driven in part by its 5-Star Bharat NCAP rating.

Upcoming Hyundai Models in 2026-27

The South Korean automaker is set to launch a new Maruti Fronx rival in the second half of 2026. The upcoming Hyundai micro-SUV will be based on the Bayon, and expected to feature the brand’s new 1.2L, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine is said to be hybrid-ready, and more efficient than the 1.5L petrol engine.

The next-generation Hyundai Creta will be the biggest product launch from the South Korean automaker in India. Spy images suggest that the SUV will be larger than the current model, featuring a sharper design language and a more commanding road presence. Significant feature upgrades are also expected inside the cabin.

The biggest upgrade; however, will come in the form of a strong hybrid powertrain. Reports indicate that the 2027 Hyundai Creta will be the brand’s first hybrid model in India, featuring an electrified version of the 1.5L petrol engine.

Hyundai Ni1i (codename) three-row premium SUV is also expected to debut in 2027. It’s likely to share the hybrid powertrain with the Creta, and could be based on the China-spec Hyundai Tucson LWB.
