A report from November last year revealed that Apple plans to equip the iPad Air with an OLED display in the coming years. Now, a new report suggests that the OLED iPad Air is slated to debut in 2027.
The OLED panels for the upcoming iPad Air models will reportedly be supplied by Samsung Display. Citing industry sources, the report claims that Samsung is expected to begin mass production later this year or by early January 2027.
The next-generation iPad Air is said to feature an LTPS OLED panel. Apple is likely to unveil the tablet in March next year, around the same timeframe it introduced the current M4-powered iPad Air.
Apple currently offers an OLED display only on the iPad Pro. The iPad mini is rumored to get an OLED display later this year. Meanwhile, the company is also said to offer OLED panels on the MacBook Air in 2028.
The latest M4 iPad Air, which debuted in March, comes with an LCD display.
