Plug-in Hybrid System Explained

Starting with its highlight, the plug-in hybrid powertrain. The T2 uses Chery’s Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system, which includes a 1.5L turbo petrol engine (154-156bhp/220Nm), electric motors, a 26.7kWh LFP battery pack and a hybrid transmission. In select global markets, it also available with a single electric motor and an optional larger 43.24kWh battery pack.

In EV mode, the electric motor supplies power to the wheels, and offers a claimed range of 130km. In engine mode, the petrol engine drives wheels, making it suitable for high-speed cursing and low battery conditions. In hybrid mode, the motor and engine work together to provide maximum fuel efficiency and performance. The entire setup offers a combined range of over 1000km. The Jetour T2 2WD version accelerates 0 to 100kmph in just 7.2 seconds.

Capable Platform

The T2 underpins Chery’s Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM platform, which has been designed specifically for plug-in hybrid vehicles. It features high-efficiency engine, Intelligent power distribution, AWD system and ensures long EV range. The upcoming T2 plug-in hybrid SUV will bridge the gap between hybrids and pure EVs in India.
