The Kia Carens family, including ICE and EV models, has achieved the 3 lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. The MPV lineup is currently available with three engine options – petrol, diesel and electric. The carmaker has revealed that the petrol variants account for 60% of the cumulative sales, followed by diesel at 30% and EV at 10%. The top variants are also witnessed strong demand, accounting 18% of the total sales.

Electric Powertrain

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is available in both seating options 6- & 7-seater. It comes with two electric motor options – 99kW & 126kW – both delivering 255 Nm torque. The EV is offered with dual battery options—51.4 kWh (490 km range) and 42 kWh (404 km range)—and fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes.

Petrol & Diesel Engine Options

On the other hand, the ICE-powered Carens Clavis comes with three 1.5, four-cylinder engines – a 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 160bhp turbo petrol and 116bhp diesel. Kia claims that the Clavis NA petrol and turbo petrol deliver a fuel efficiency of 15.34kmpl and 16.66kmpl, respectively. The turbo diesel is the most fuel-efficient version, offering a claimed mileage of 19.4kmpl.
