Kia’s Hybrid Plan

Kia India is likely to enter the growing hybrid segment in 2027 with either a hybrid version of the new Seltos or the Kia Sorento 7-seater premium SUV. Both models are expected to feature an electrified version of the proven 1.5L petrol engine. This strong hybrid powertrain will debut in the next-generation Hyundai Creta.

When launched, the Kia Sorento will be positioned against the upcoming 7-seater versions of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Renault Duster. The Kia Seltos hybrid will directly take on the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and the upcoming Renault Duster hybrid and new-gen Hyundai Creta.
