The second-generation Kia Seltos went on sale in India in January 2026. While the carmaker did not officially announce ARAI-certified mileage figures at the time of launch, the fuel efficiency details have now surfaced online. As per the information shared by Vahan Warta, the Kia Seltos diesel manual (HTE) and automatic (HTE (O)) variants return a claimed ARAI-rated mileage of 19.4kmpl and 17.8kmpl, respectively. These are the most fuel-efficient engine-gearbox combinations in the lineup.

Following the diesel variants, the Kia Seltos turbo petrol (HTE (O)) with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission delivers an impressive mileage of 17.5kmpl. However, the turbo-petrol iMT (HTE (O)) offers the lowest fuel efficiency in the lineup at 15.6kmpl. The naturally-aspirated petrol manual and iVT variants promise a fuel efficiency of 16.5kmpl.

It’s important to note that ARAI-certified mileage figures are achieved under ideal testing conditions. Real-world fuel efficiency may vary depending on the road conditions, driving style and several other factors.
Engine-Gearbox Options
The new Kia Seltos SUV lineup comes with three 1.5-litre engine options – a 115hp naturally aspirated petrol, a 160hp turbo-petrol and a 116hp diesel. The NA petrol engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. The diesel engine can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The turbo-petrol motor is offered with two gearbox options – a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
Kia Seltos Hybrid Coming in 2027
Kia India has confirmed a petrol-hybrid powertrain for the new Seltos, slated to arrive in 2027. While the exact powertrain details are still under the wraps, Kia is reported to use an electrified version of its tried-and-tested 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine. The same powertrain will be used for the upcoming Kia Sorento three-row premium SUV, which is due for 2027.
When launched, the Kia Seltos hybrid will go head-to-head against the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and the upcoming Renault Duster hybrid and Hyundai Creta hybrid.
