Kia Syros EV Launched at Rs 13.50 Lakh – 526km Range, BaaS & More


The Kia Syros EV has finally been launched in India at starting price of Rs 13.50 lakh. It’s available with Kia’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, which offers flexible finance options through a dual-loan model with the vehicle chassis and battery financed separately. Under the scheme, ownership starts from Rs 7.99 lakh along with a transparent battery rental charge of Rs 3.3 per kilometer. At this price point, it becomes Kia’s most affordable EV in India, challenging the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

Battery, Range & Charging Time

The Kia Syros EV is available with two battery options, 42kWh and 51.4 kWh, delivering an ARAI-certified range of 443km and 526 km (MIDC Full), respectively. It’s also the first vehicle in its segment to cross the 500 km range mark.

The new Kia electric SUV supports best-in-segment DC fast charging from 10-80% in 39 minutes with a 100 kW charger and Battery Conditioning feature that optimizes battery temperature for faster DC charging. It also features a 10.8 kW onboard AC charging capacity.

Built on Kia’s K1 platform, the Syros EV delivers power with 171PS from its advanced Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.1 seconds with the 51.4 kWh pack.

Kia has also equipped the EV with a range of EV-exclusive technologies including Paddle Shifters for Regenerative Braking with Auto Mode and i-Pedal, Vehicle-to-Load (Internal), Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), a Battery Heating System and Shift-by-Wire – Column-Type.

Battery Warranty & Packages

Kia is offering a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty*, 15 years, with unlimited kilometres along with an Assured Buyback programme, offering an introductory resale value up to 80% after 3 years*. According to Kia, this is the highest assured buyback proposition offered for any vehicle in India today. Customers can choose from 3 or 4-year tenures with flexible annual mileage options. At the end of their selected tenure, they can retain, return or replace their vehicle.

Additionally, the carmaker has introduced a comprehensive My Convenience e-Plus package for the Syros EV. It combines scheduled maintenance, an extended warranty and roadside assistance in one plan. The package is available in two tiers- a 4-year Premium package, and a 5-year Luxury package with extended roadside assistance coverage through the 4th and 5th years.
