The Lenovo Legion Y700 AI – yes, it has AI in the name – is smaller than its predecessor. It has an 8.4” OLED display, a 2,560 x 1,600px panel, with 12-bit colors and Dolby Vision support. The display runs at up to 165Hz and can reach 4,000 nits peak brightness.

This is a bit of a gaming tablet as you can imagine given the Legion branding. The Snapdragon chip is placed in the middle of the console, which will keep its heat away from your fingers. Speaking of which, there is a 15,000mm² heat spreader that helps keep things cool.

The chipset is paired with LPDDR5T RAM (10,667Mbps) and UFS 4.1 Pro storage. There are several configuration options available: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 24GB/1TB. Note that all three have 5G connectivity. The good news on the storage side of things is that a microSD slot is available for cards up to 2TB.

The tablet weighs just under 300g and measures 6.5mm thick. It houses a dual-cell battery with 7,470mAh capacity, which supports 68W fast charging.

Like others in the Legion Y family, the Y700 AI features two USB-C ports. One is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 with DisplayPort support (this is the port on the long side), the other is a USB 2.0 port. While the tablet doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack, you can still charge it while using wired headphones thanks to the dual USB ports. And since one is video out capable, you can connect the tablet to a large screen too.

The Lenovo Legion Y700 AI has other advanced connectivity – we already mentioned the 5G (it’s dual SIM to boot), there’s also dual band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Again, no headphone jack, but there are stereo speakers on board.

The tablet is available in Ice White, Cloud Purple and Cloud Tide Purple. And in case you missed it, the ring around the camera has RGB LEDs inside – it’s called the Legion Halo and it changes colors depending on what the tablet is doing.
