Mahindra Vision S Compact SUV Rendered: Could Join Scorpio Family?

Unveiled on last year’s Independence Day, the Mahindra Vision S concept previewed a sub-4 metre SUV, which is expected to join the Scorpio family. Its near production-version has been spotted testing multiple times, revealing a few interesting details. Based on the available spy images, SRK Designs has created a digital rendering showing what it could look like.

Rendered Design Details

Mahindra Vision S SUV

The rendered Vision S features Mahindra’s signature grille with vertical slats, round projector LED headlamps with dual-function LED DRLs, faux skid plates, a massive bumper and foglamp assembly, differentiating the front fascia from the concept. Moving on to the sides, the SUV features heavy cladding on the wheel arches and under the doors, roof rails and a shark-fin antenna as seen on the concept.

At the rear end, the Mahindra Vision S sports a tailgate mounted spare wheel, inverted L-shaped LED taillamps, a reverse lamp integrated into the bumper and faux skid plates. The SUV carries boxy and upright stance similar to the Vision S concept. However, the rendered model misses out on adventure accessories such as a stepladder on the kerb side and a jerry can on the right.

Interior & Features

The production-ready Mahindra Vision S will retain most elements from the concept including the centre console with physical buttons on the lower portion, a conventional gear lever and, curved and pronounced HVAC vents. Spy images also reveal that the SUV feature a conventional analogue instrument cluster with small MID (multi-information display), manually adjustable AC dials and fabric seat upholstery, hinting it could be an entry-level or mid-level variant. One of major highlights is the panoramic sunroof; however, it’s not yet clear whether it is a fixed glass unit or a partially opening one.

Expected Engine

Under the hood, the Mahindra Vision S is expected to feature the tried-and-tested 1.5L, four-cylinder diesel engine, borrowed from the XUV 3XO. This motor, with manual and automatic gearbox, delivers a claimed power of 117bhp and 300Nm of torque. However, the power and torque figures for the Vision S might vary.
