Maruti e Vitara Launching On 2nd Dec


Maruti Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV was first showcased as the eVX concept at the 2023 Auto, followed by its production-ready debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. This new EV will be positioned directly against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. According to a fresh media report, the Maruti e Vitara will go on sale in India on 2nd December, 2025.

Battery Packs & Range

The India-spec e Vitara is likely to come with the exactly same battery options and specifications as its globally counterpart. This means, the EV will be offered with two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh – paired with a front axle mounted electric motor. The 61kWh bigger battery version will also be available with a dual motor setup and AWD (all-wheel drive) system.

The 49kWh FWD version will deliver a maximum power of 144bhp and offers a claimed range of 344km per charge. The 61kWh FWD variant will return power worth 174bhp and a driving range of 428km, while the same battery pack with AWD setup will generte 184bhp and 394km range on a single charge. Initially, the e Vitara could be made available only with the single motor configuration. The dual motor variant might join the lineup later.

Design Elements

The production-ready Maruti e Vitara retains most of the design elements from the eVX concept such as the tri-slash LED DRLs at the front and rear, sporty 225/50 R19 tyres (only with the AWD variant), charging ports on the front flanks, pronounced wheel arches and, C-pillar mounted rear door handles.

Dimensions

The new Maruti electric SUV measures 4,275mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,700mm. It has a ground clearance of 180mm and carries a kerb weight of 1,702kg to 1,899kg (depending on the variant).
