JSW MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the updated Hector and Hector Plus on December 15, 2025. Ahead of their official debut, the carmaker has released a teaser revealing its silhouette, signature MG logo and illuminated headlamps and foglamps. While the official details will be revealed in the coming days, the SUVs are expected to receive subtle design changes and features upgrades. No mechanical changes are likely. Let’s take a look at the key changes expected in the new MG Hector 2026 facelift.
What has the teaser revealed?
The teaser confirms that the 2026 MG Hector will feature a newly-designed front grille with vertical motifs in chrome finish. The SUV might also come with a revised bumper, a new skid plate and newly-designed dual-tone alloy wheels, while the headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamp assembly and LED taillamps remain unchanged. Dimensionally, the updated Hector will remain similar to the current model, which measures 4,699mm in length, 1,835mm in width and 1,760mm in height.
More Features?
Interior details are still under the wraps. However, the new 2026 MG Hector facelift is likely to borrow 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Windsor EV. Most features will be carried over from the current model including an eight-speaker audio system, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, four-way electrically adjustable co-driver seat, mood lighting in eight colours, a 360-degree view camera, 6 airbags, and more.
Engine Options
No changes are expected under the hood. The new MG Hector 2026 facelift is expected to come with the same 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engine options. The petrol motor pushes out a maximum power of 143PS and 250Nm of torque, while the diesel unit is good enough for 170PS and 350Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (standard) and a CVT automatic (available with the petrol engine only).
