Earlier this year, JSW Motors partnered with Chery to introduce its first product in India during the 2026 Diwali festive season. Called the Jetour T2, the SUV will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and 5-seat configuration. The brand’s new greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra will serve as the assembly hub for the SUV.
Competition & Expected Price
While its official launch is still a few months away, the SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 35 lakh – Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). It won’t have any direct rival in India; however, its pricing will overlap with several premium SUVs across different segments including Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tayron.

Powertrain Specs
Globally, the Jetour T2 is available with three engine options – a 1.5L turbo petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol plug-in hybrid and a 2.0L turbo petrol. In India, JSW Motors will introduce the SUV with plug-in hybrid powertrain that includes a 1.5L turbo GDi petrol engine, 224bhp dual motors and a 26.7kWh LFP (lithium-ion phosphate) battery pack. This setup delivers a combined power of 381bhp and 610Nm of torque. It accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 7 seconds, and offers a top speed of 197kmph.
Range & Charging Time
The T2 PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) offers a claimed electric-only range of 139km (NEDC) and a combined driving range of over 1,000km. The 26.7kWh LFP battery pack supports both AC and DC fast charging. Using an AC charger, it takes less than 4 hours to charge from 30 to 100%. The battery pack can be juiced up from 30 to 80% in just 30 minutes by using a DC fast charger.
Premium Features
Positioned as a premium PHEV, the Jetour T2 will offer several advanced features such as a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Sony premium audio system, wireless phone charging, rear AC vents, dual zone automatic climate control, leather/PVC upholstery options, electrically adjustable and ventilated seats, ambient lighting and more.
The safety package includes multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection and more.
