New Hyundai SUV Spotted in India

Hyundai India’s future roadmap consists of 26 new models across ICE (internal combustion engine), hybrid and EV segments, all slated to arrive by 2030. The upcoming lineup will include compact crossover, sub-4 metre and above 4 metre SUVs, electric hatchback and full-sized premium SUV. As of now, official names and detailed specifications of these future Hyundai products remain under wraps.

New Hyundai SUV – What Spy Images Reveal

New-Hyundai-Compact-SUV-spied

Recently, a heavily camouflaged test mule of a new Hyundai SUV was caught on camera in Mumbai. Interestingly, the model appears completely different from any rumoured Hyundai products seen so far.

Looking at the spy images, the boxy and upright stance are clearly evident, seems inspired by the Venue and Creta. Design highlights include 16-inch black steel wheels, connected LED DRLs, a raised bonnet, black roof rails, flush-fitting door handles and a shark-fin antenna.

The rear section has black cladding with a silver garnish near the rear door window glass along with sleek LED taillamps. A prominent character crease on the lower section of the tailgate adds to its sporty appearance, while the rear bumper features vertically placed reflectors.

What to expect from the interior?

It would be quite early to comment on its interior. However, the upcoming Hyundai compact SUV is expected to offer a touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, dashcam, OTA updates, leatherette upholstery, wireless charger, rear parking camera, a sunroof, cruise control, rear AC vents, hill start assist, electronic stability control, multiple airbags and more.

ICE or EV – Not Clear Yet!

As of now, there is no clarity whether this model will be ICE-powered model or fully electric. However, rumour has it that the spied model could be Hyundai’s version of the Kia EV2 – the brand’s smallest EV yet.

Globally, the Kia EV2 will be offered with two battery options – a 42.2kWh LFP (Standard) and a 61.0kWh NMC (Long-Range), paired with a 147bhp front mounted motor and a 136bhp motor, respectively.

Hyundai’s Plan For 2026

Hyundai Motor India has planned the Verna and Exter facelifts for 2026 along with an all-new compact crossover based on the globally sold Hyundai Bayon. The upcoming Hyundai Bayon will feature the brand’s all-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which also support hybrid technology.
