Mahindra & Mahindra has released the first teasers of the upcoming Thar 3-door facelift, confirming that it will be launched on September 22, 2026. The teasers reveal a revised mesh front grille with Mahindra lettering, a new bumper, redesigned headlamps and muddy terrain tyres. The new 2026 Mahindra Thar 3-door will derive several design elements from the Thar Roxx including the circular projector LED headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, revised LED taillamps and refreshed bumper.

Inside the cabin, the new Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to feature a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera. Other features will be carried forward from the pre-facelift, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electronically adjustable ORVMs, a 6-speaker sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors and more.
Under the hood, the new 2026 Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to retain the existing 119bhp, 1.5-litre diesel, 132bhp, 2.2-litre diesel and 152bhp, 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options. The SUV lineup will get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission will continue to be reserved for the 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines. It will be available with either AWD or RWD drivetrain systems.
The new Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to be priced slightly premium over the current model, which is currently available in the price range of Rs 10.32 lakh – Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
