The all-new Hyundai Bayon midsize SUV is set to launch in India in the coming weeks. Ahead of its official arrival, the model has been spotted multiple times in heavy to semi-camouflage, revealing several interesting design and feature details. Hyundai is expected to price the new SUV competitively to take on the Maruti Victoris, which is currently priced between Rs 10.50 lakh – Rs 19.99 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

In the company’s product lineup, the new Hyundai Bayon will sit between the Venue and below the Creta and will be sold alongside the latter. With the new midsize SUV, the South Korean automaker aims to target a wider audience looking for slightly affordable alternative to the Creta. Prices for the Bayon are expected to start around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Petrol & CNG Options
While official details are still under the wraps, the new Hyundai midsize SUV is expected to come with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with a CNG option. The CNG version is likely to feature an underbody CNG tank. The Bayon lineup is expected to be available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Modern Styling
Spy images suggest that the Bayon will carry an upright stance, squared-off wheel arches, functional roof rails and a flat roof. Upfront, the SUV will feature a slatted grille, H-styled top-mounted LED DRLs, LED headlamps in trapezoidal housing and a sporty bumper. Other design highlights include a shark fin antenna, alloy wheels, upright rear windscreen, horizontal lighting element, roof mounted spoiler and rear bumper integrated parking sensors.
Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Bayon is likely to feature a dual screen setup, with one display for the infotainment system and another for the instrument functionalities. Other expected features include connected car tech, a 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leatherette upholstery, rear parking sensors, multiple airbags, rear parking camera, front and rear parking sensors and more.
