Nissan India recently launched the Tekton midsize SUV at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). At the launch event, the Japanese automaker also confirmed that the Tekton 7-seater SUV will arrive in the first quarter of 2027 (between January to March). While the carmaker remained light-lipped about the three-row SUV, here’s everything we know so far.
Longer & Spacious
The upcoming Nissan Tekton 7-seater SUV is expected to share platform, powertrains, design, interior and features with its 5-seater sibling. While the Patrol-inspired design language will remain intact, the model is likely to receive a few design tweaks such as revised bumpers, and newly-designed alloy wheels.
Compared to the Tekton, the three-row version will be longer and offer a more spacious cabin with an additional row of seats.

Apart from the addition of the third row seats, the cabin layout is expected to remain unchanged. In terms of features, the 7-seater Nissan Tekton is likely to offer a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, leatherette seat upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, 6-way adjustable and ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate and more.
On the safety front, the three-row SUV is expected to offer Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a 360-degree camera with blind spot assist, 6 airbags, an electronic parking brake and, front and rear parking sensors.
Same Turbo Petrol Engines
The Nissan Tekton 7-seater SUV is likely to borrow the 1.0L, three-cylinder turbo petrol and 1.3L four-cylinder turbo petrol engines from the standard model. In their current state of tune, the 1.0-litre engine produces a maximum power of 100bhp and 166Nm of torque, whereas the 1.3L turbo engine generates power worth 163bhp and 280Nm of torque.
These performance figures could be slightly different for the heavier 7-seater version. Transmission choices are expected to include a 6-speed manual (standard) and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (which his likely to be offered exclusively with the 1.3L turbo petrol engine).
Competition & Prices
The 7-seater Nissan Tekton will be positioned against the Mahindra XUV &XO, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar. It will also compete with several upcoming 7-seater SUVs including the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Renault Duster, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Ni1i (codename).
