Nissan Tekton SUV Arriving In February 2026

Nissan has planned several new UVs (utility vehicles) for the Indian market. The Japanese automaker will kick start the new year with the launch of the updated Magnite subcompact, which will receive a few new features while retaining its existing design language and powertrain. It will be followed by the Nissan Gravite subcompact MPV and the Nissan Tekton midsize SUV. While the former will debut in January and go on sale in March, the latter is scheduled to be showcased in February, 2026.

Design Explained

The Nissan Tekton will be based on the third-generation Renault Duster, slated to debut on 26th January 2026. However, its design and styling will be heavily inspired by the global-spec Nissan Patrol SUV. Official teasers confirm that the SUV will feature a larger grille with C-shaped design elements and character lines and connected LED headlamps at the front end. Other design highlights will include multi-spoke alloy wheels, connected LED taillamps, a roof-mounted rear spoiler and black with silver finish rear bumper.

Interior Details

The teasers also reveal that the upcoming Nissan Tekton will offer a glossy black dashboard with contrasting copper-coloured strip running from the infotainment system to the side AC vents. It will have soft-touch materials. The SUV will share its platform, cabin layout and features with the new Duster.

Expected Engine Options

Similar to the new-gen Renault Duster, the new Nissan midsize SUV will be offered with the petrol engine options only. While official details are still under the wraps, it could get the 1.3L and 1.2L mild hybrid petrol engines.

Production & Rivals

Renault-Nissan’s Chennai manufacturing plant will serve as the production hub for both domestic and export markets. In the midsize SUV segment, the all-new Nissan Tekton will go head-to-head against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Victoris, and Volkswagen Taigun.
