Hyundai Motor India will introduce three major products by the end of this fiscal year, including the Bayon-based SUV, a new compact EV and the next-generation Creta. All three models are currently undergoing testing and multiple spy shots have already revealed several interesting details.
The Hyundai Bayon-based midsize SUV will be positioned below the Hyundai Creta and will be sold alongside it. The carmaker is expected to unveil the new midsize SUV by September, with its market launch likely to take place around the 2026 Diwali festive season.

Naturally Aspirated Petrol & CNG Options
According to a fresh media report, the new Hyundai midsize SUV will be offered with two engine options – a naturally aspirated petrol and a CNG. The petrol version is expected to feature Hyundai’s proven 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, paired with either a manual or a CVT automatic gearbox options. The same engine will also be available with a factory-fitted underbody-mounted CNG tank.
No Diesel & Hybrid
The Hyundai Bayon SUV lineup is unlikely to receive diesel or hybrid powertrains. These engine options will remain exclusive to the next-generation Hyundai Creta, helping justify its premium positioning and pricing in the segment.
Design & Interior
Measuring around 4.18 metres in length, the new Hyundai midsize SUV is likely to feature a crossover-ish stance with several design elements derived from the Exter and Creta. Similar to Hyundai’s new breed SUVs, the Bayon is expected to be packed with several premium features such as a fully digital driver’s display, a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, front and rear parking sensors, leatherette upholstery, rear parking camera, premium audio system, Hyundai BlueLink connected car tech, etc.
Safety Features
The safety package is likely to include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD and more. The SUV lineup could also be equipped with an ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.
