Samsung started seeding the stable One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16 for the Galaxy S24 series just last week, but it was available only to US and South Korean users. Today, the company is making it available for the global market.
If you still haven’t received a notification, go and check for the software update manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. And if that doesn’t work, you might have to wait a day or two before it arrives.
The One UI 8.5 software brings a handful of new features and changes, despite what the incremental version change suggests. You get new AI features under the Galaxy AI, like more powerful image editing tools, smarter Bixby, deeper integration with Perplexity AI, new camera features like Document scan, Log video previews in real time and dual video recording using the selfie and one of the back cameras simultaneously.
