Pixel 11 Pro vs. Pixel 10 Pro

The new Pixel 11 series is now out so new and returning customers have started making their comparisons. And we are doing our best to help with a more detailed look at the most popular ones. Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro? Let’s find out!

The 256GB base version of the Google Pixel 11 Pro is quite pricey at €1,100, while the 128GB base model of the Google Pixel 10 Pro now sits at a far more reasonable price of €770.

Is it worth paying the premium for the Google Pixel 11 Pro then?

Table of Contents:

For starters, you can compare the complete specs sheets or directly continue with our editor’s assessment in the following text.

Size comparison

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro not only look alike, but their size and weight are pretty much identical. Same goes for the materials – both devices rely on Gorilla Glass Victus 2 panels and feature an aluminum frame.

Aside from the edge-to-edge glass used on the camera housing, the only other difference between the Pixel 11 Pro and the previous model are the body colors.

Finally, the ingress protection rating is identical on both phones as well – IP68 for dust and water resistance.

Winner: Tie.

Display comparison

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro use what appears to be the same 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel. It has 1280 x 2856 pixels, supports dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, and can display HDR10+ content.

According to the official specs the Pixel 11 Pro offers a minor increase in the maximum automatic (2,400 nits vs. 2,200 nits) and peak brightness numbers (3,600 nits vs. 3,300 nits).

Our display test revealed that the Pixel 11 Pro screen is indeed a notch brighter – 2,426 vs. 2,351 nits for the Pixel 10 Pro. There is a minor improvement in the peak brightness, too, 3,283 nits vs. 3,165 nits for the Pixel 10 Pro. In both cases the difference is negligible and cannot be seen in real life.

We can confirm that both screens are as dynamic as a panel can be these days with refresh rates ranging between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on the content and frame rate.

Finally, both displays support HDR10 and HDR10+, as well as Android Ultra HDR, across all popular apps.

Winner: Tie.

Battery life

The Pixel 11 Pro comes with almost the same battery capacity as the Pixel 10 Pro – the 4,850 mAh cell is just 20 mAh smaller than last year’s 4,870 mAh battery. This minor difference cannot account for any meaningful change, but the new Tensor G6 might – Google promises better efficiency, especially now that the processor has one fewer CPU core.

Indeed, the Pixel 11 Pro offers better battery life – it posted an Active Use Score of 15:38h, 3:33h better than the Pixel 10 Pro rating. While the call and web tests remained in the same ballpark, the video streaming and especially the gaming endurance have risen quite dramatically.

Winner: Pixel 11 Pro.

Charging speed

The Pixel 11 Pro supports the same 30W wired charging over Power Delivery as the Pixel 10 Pro. This year, the Pixel 11 series introduced a new Extreme Charging mode, which can be enabled for individual charging sessions when the battery level is below 50%.

Well, with or without Extreme Charging, the Pixel 11 Pro does not offer a meaningful boost over the Pixel 10 Pro charging speed.

It is worth noting that the new Pixel 11 Pro supports 25W wireless charging, while the Pixel 10 Pro maxes out at 15W. To achieve these Watts, you need to use compatible magnetic chargers with support for Qi2.2.

Winner: Pixel 11 Pro for its 25W wireless charging support.

Speaker test

Both Pixel Pro models feature hybrid stereo speaker setups, with one dedicated speaker at the bottom and the earpiece doubling as the second channel.

In terms of loudness, the Pixel 11 Pro is slightly quieter than its predecessor, earning a “Good” score. Sound quality has slightly improved with a richer presentation and stronger bass, though.

Winner: Tie.

Performance

All Pixel 11 models run on Google’s latest chip – Tensor G6. It’s based on the same 3nm manufacturing process as the previous Tensor G5 chip inside the Pixel 10 Pro. With this new model, Google promises better efficiency and a 50% increase in AI computational power. It’s based on the same 3nm manufacturing process as the previous Tensor G5 chip, but omits one of the CPU cores.

The new Tensor G6 employs a 7-core CPU. The configuration packs 1×4.1 GHz ARM C1-Ultra cores, 4×3.4 GHz ARM C1-Pro cores and 2×2.65 GHz ARM C1-Pro cores. All seven cores are clocked significantly higher than Tensor G5’s CPU – 1×3.78 GHz Cortex-X4 & 5×3.05 GHz Cortex-A725 & 2×2.25 GHz Cortex-A520.

The GPU at hand is IMG CXTP-48-1536 by Imagination. Previously known as PowerVR, Imagination’s graphics chips are hardly the most capable in the Android market. And while Tensor G5 used a modern Series D GPU, the Tensor G6, for some reason, goes for older Series C architecture, which has even worse support across game developers and no ray tracing.

Memory-wise, the Pixel 11 Pro relies on either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, depending on the storage configuration. The base storage has doubled – it’s now 256GB and it’s coupled with 12GB RAM. The 512GB and 1TB options come with 16GB RAM.

The Pixel 10 Pro base storage is 128GB, but you can opt for 256GB, 512GB and 1TB versions. And no matter which one you choose, it will come with 16GB RAM.

Benchmark performance

The bottom line is this: Tensor G6 inside the Pixel 11 Pro offers one of the biggest CPU performance jumps we’ve seen from a Tensor chipset in a while when it comes to the CPU. The new silicon outperforms last year’s Tensor G5 by more than 20% in multi-core scenarios and by almost 20% in single-core tests. There’s a sizeable increase in combined workloads like AnTuTu 11, too.

On the other hand, the GPU shows roughly the same performance as before. At least Google fixed the numerous compatibility issues across many popular games at launch.

Finally, both Pixels offer comparable sustained performance with about 60% of CPU and 70% of GPU speed retention during stress tests.

Winner: Pixel 11 Pro. It’s close though – the CPU is far better, but base version has less RAM and the GPU is roughly the same.

Camera comparison

Both generations of Pixel Pros feature a relatively standard triple rear camera setup that consists of a primary wide camera joined by an ultrawide and a telephoto module.

The 11 Pro’s telephoto is now using a larger sensor, at 1/1.95″ vs. the 1/2.51″ optical format of last year’s model. While the sensor is larger, there’s no improvement in minimum focusing distance – it’s actually even longer now at about 39cm.

The main camera is apparently unchanged and it uses a 50MP 1/1.3″ sensor paired with a 24mm lens (or 25mm if you go off the officially listed angle of view).

The ultrawide has been carried over as well, and it too features a 50MP sensor that Google calls 48MP. It’s got a very wide lens with autofocus.

The selfie camera is the same as last time, offering an ultrawide lens with autofocus and a 42MP sensor.

There are two new software features which we can’t really see influencing purchasing decisions. One is Magic Capture – full auto shooting where the phone will capture video and also pick out high-res stills of the right moments all on its own. The other thing is the Camera Looks feature – the glorified filters thing that Apple calls Photographic styles.

For the purposes of this comparison, we’ve used samples taken on a Pixel 11 Pro and a Pixel 10 Pro XL. The 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro feature identical camera systems, so the Pixel 10 Pro XL results are fully representative of the smaller model’s performance. The samples were taken side by side with the two phones, either exactly at the same time, or within moments from each other.

Image quality

Daylight

The two Pixels shoot similar photos with their main cameras, both more or less falling within the principles that define the Pixel look, but the images are not without their differences. The new model has a finer detail structure, better definition, less obtrusive sharpening – it’s superior in a small but meaningful way. There are traces of a difference in the color rendition too, with the new model maybe leaning slightly warmer, though that’s neither here nor there.

It’s somewhat disappointing that neither phone is much good at 2x, though they’re still quite different in what they give you at that zoom level. The 10 Pro will get you heavily sharpened greenery, while the 11 Pro chooses to just leave it soft and featureless. The 11 Pro does look better in the way it renders man-made objects and straight lines, though.

Both telephotos have a distinctly digital detail rendition at 5x, but the 11 Pro just might be doing it in a finer, more delicate way, and the new model’s images are sharper. They’re hardly the best of their kind, mind you, just better than last year’s. There’s a bit of that faint warmth in the 2026 shots too.

Low light

In the dark, the two main cameras are, unsurprisingly, broadly similar, but there is again a bit of tendency for extra warmth on the Pixel 11 Pro in some scenes and it’s almost objectionable on occasion. Detail is very good on both, but still slightly better on the 11 Pro.

At 5x, the 11 Pro’s larger sensor isn’t giving it much of a tangible advantage. There are scenes or parts of scenes where we could convince ourselves it’s sharper, but it would be an academic advantage at most, and not something that would make you choose one phone over the other.

Looking at the ultrawide images, we arrive at the somewhat disturbing realization that the old model’s results are sharper – consistently and tangibly so. We figured we’d double check with the Pixel 11 Pro XL’s samples to make sure our Pixel 11 Pro’s ultrawide wasn’t a dud, but the XL’s images are similarly soft-ish. That’s not a good look for 11 Pros.

Selfies

The selfie camera hardware is by all accounts the same on both generations and we certainly appreciate the ultrawide AF-capable lenses. That said, the 11 Pro has a bit of an edge in terms of detail in good light, but it’s somehow worse in low-light (where the 10 Pro is hardly excellent itself).

Video quality

The two phones have roughly the same video recording capabilities, offering 4K60 capture on all cameras and 8K30 via cloud-based processing. The new Pixel can do HDR up to 4K60, while the 10 Pro maxes that out at 4K30, which could be a consideration.

Below we have a few framegrabs from the videos taken by the two phones at each focal length so it’s easier to compare to one another.

The daylight videos from the two phones are more similar than they are different, at all zoom levels. Global properties like color rendition, contrast and dynamic range are essentially identical between the two. The old model’s 1x clips leave an impression of being a little bit sharper, but it’s just the way the detail is rendered, we reckon – we wouldn’t say they actually resolve more of it. It’s a similar story on the ultrawides, with the 11 Pro having more lax sharpening. There’s even less of a difference in the telephoto footage, at least to our eyes.

In the dark, main camera clips are as good as identical between the two phones, and so too are the results from the ultrawides. The 11 Pro might have a minuscule advantage on the telephoto end, but it’s so small as to be immaterial.

Winner: Tie.

Verdict

The Google Pixel 11 Pro is a proper flagship with excellent design, screen, battery life, camera experience and Google’s take on Android OS. It does offer incremental improvements over the Pixel 10 Pro across most departments – CPU, battery life and charging, screen brightness, speaker audio quality, video capturing.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro, now cheaper, looks and feels almost indistinguishable from the newer model. It employs the same design and screen, offers louder speakers and even comes with an arguably better GPU. The Pixel 10 Pro has identical Android OS and the overall camera quality is on par with the Pixel 11 Pro’s.

We cannot wholeheartedly recommend paying the premium for the Pixel 11 Pro when the Pixel 10 Pro is just as good. Unless you find a meaningful feature in the current generation, like the 4K60 HDR video capturing, you may as well save some money and get the 2025 model.
