We’ve heard rumors that Qualcomm will launch two 2nm chips under the Snapdragon 8 Elite series this year, called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950) and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975). But now we learn that Qualcomm has two more Snapdragon 8-series chips on its roadmap.
The word comes from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, who claimed that Qualcomm is working on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX version and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro. Both of them are 3nm chips, but the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX has part number SM8850Q, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro has part number SM8845 Pro.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 were unveiled last year, bearing part numbers SM8850 and SM8845, respectively. It’s unclear how different the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX version will be from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but it’s safe to assume the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro will have better specs than its non-Pro counterpart. It could also be launched as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6.
While the tipster didn’t share specs of these 3nm chips, they did detail the 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro. You can see the screenshot of the tipster’s Weibo post below for more information.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 was introduced last year in September at the Snapdragon Summit, so expect the chips mentioned above to go official around the same time this year.
