Renault has kick-started its grand comeback plan in India with the launch of the third-generation Renault Duster. Sheading lights on its future plan, the French automaker has confirmed seven new models and two new architectures, which will support ICE, hybrid, CNG and electric powertrains.
The Renault Bridger will one of the seven planned future products arriving under its FutuREady strategy in 2027. Unveiled in March 2026, the Bridger concept previews the brand’s upcoming rugged sub-4 metre SUV, which is likely to be positioned between the Renault Kiger and the Duster.

RGMP Platform Enabling Multiple Powertrains
Similar to the Duster, the Renault Bridger will be designed on the RGMP (Renault Global Modular Platform), featuring a new E&E (electrical and electronics) architecture co-developed by Renault and Google. The carmaker states that this new platform is compatible with full electrification and multiple powertrains (including ICE, hybrid, electric and CNG) without compromising packaging.
Given these capabilities, the Bridger is expected to be offered with petrol, hybrid, electric and CNG powertrain options. The carmaker also claims that the upcoming rugged subcompact SUV will deliver a “class-leading efficiency”.
Design Highlights
The design language of the Renault Bridger concept is unlike any current Renault model in India. It features an upright and boxy stance, along with an aggressive-looking front fascia that includes a large blacked-out grille, LED lights with illuminated ‘RENAULT’ badging in the centre, wide air dam and a muscular skid plate.
The side profile looks rugged with 18-inch square-spoke alloy wheels, squarish fenders and wheel arches and C-pillar integrated rear door handles. At the rear, the Bridger gets sharply designed LED taillamps, bumper integrated skid plate and tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Renault has confirmed that the Bridger will offer a class-leading ground clearance of 200mm and a boot space of 400-litres. Despite its compact footprint, the subcompact SUV is claimed to deliver an “exceptional” cabin space.
