The new 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift has finally been launched in the Indian market. The updated model lineup is now available at a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The complete variant-wise prices will be announced soon. The hatchback receives subtle design and several new features along with a 1.2-litre petrol engine sourced from the Swift. It also gets Level 2 ADAS suite, which is reserved for the higher trims.
In the premium hatchback segment, the new Baleno continues to take on the Tata Altroz (Rs 6 lakh – Rs 10.90 lakh), Hyundai i20 (Rs 6 lakh – Rs 10.63 lakh) and Toyota Glanza (Rs 6.73 lakh – Rs 9.99 lakh).

Engine & Mileage
Starting with the powertrains, the new Maruti Baleno 2026 facelift is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces power worth 90PS and 113Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. This turbo-petrol engine delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.35kmpl (MT) and 22.94kmpl (AMT).
The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The CNG version delivers a maximum power of 77.5PS and 98.5Nm of toque. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are on offer. It offers a fuel efficiency of 30.61 km/kg.
Upgraded Cabin & New Features
The new 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift features a new dual-tone cabin theme with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other new features include ventilated front seats (first-in-segment), an QI certified wireless phone charger with active cooling, a single-pane sunroof, a premium sound system by Clarion and rear window.
The biggest highlight is the addition of a Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite, offering features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, high beam assist and more. The hatchback’s safety kit also includes six airbags (standard), a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBS and hill hold assist.
Design Highlights
On the exterior, the new Maruti Baleno 2026 facelift comes with a completely revised front fascia. It features a newly-designed extended front grille, updated LED projector headlamps, tweaked bumper and new LED DRLs. The hatchback gets newly-designed alloy wheels, while the chrome-door handles, turn indicators, ORVMs and chrome window line remain unchanged. At the rear, the new Baleno features an updated bumper and connected LED taillamps. The hatchback also gets a new ‘Enigmatic Teal’ colour scheme.
