Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 key features revealed

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 series are just around the corner, and the intensity of leaks grows. The latest one comes from a reputable source, revealing some Galaxy Z Fold8 key specs.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 key features revealed

If you haven’t been following the story, keep in mind that the new Galaxy Z Fold8 isn’t a direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7 from last year. It’s actually the previously rumored “Galaxy Fold Wide”, which will take the place of the vanilla, while the current Z Fold7’s true successor will be the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Reportedly, Samsung decided to change the naming scheme back in May.

Anyway, the leak lists the Z Fold8 with a 7.6-inch main screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution, while the cover screen will measure 5.5″ in diagonal with QHD+ resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The camera system on the back will be somewhat modest, offering only a 50MP main unit with f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP ultrawide shooter with f/1.9 aperture. A familiar 10MP f/2.2 selfie camera will make an appearance on both displays.

Of course, the device will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

The whole hardware will draw power from a 4,800 mAh battery supporting 45W fast wired and 15W wireless charging.

The report also lists dimensions – 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm when folded and 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm when unfolded. That would make the device thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold7 in both states, but tipping the scales at just 201g, it will be noticeably lighter.

Most of the specs were already confirmed by previous leaks, so it looks like we are on the right track ahead of the official announcement in July.
