At the IMID 2026 expo in Busan, South Korea, Samsung unveiled several cutting-edge display technologies and arguably the standout display showcased at Samsung’s booth is a 16-inch OLED panel with a 300Hz refresh rate.
This is an industry first. We haven’t seen such a high refresh rate on an OLED, but once it hits the market, it will surely be adopted by high-end gaming laptops. However, aside from the 2.5K resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio, Samsung didn’t disclose further details. We can only assume that the HDR capabilities will be excellent, but peak brightness numbers are yet to be revealed.
In addition, Samsung revealed 31.5-inch QD-OLED and 34-inch ultrawide QD-OLED panels. The first one features a 4K resolution and 360Hz variable refresh rate, while the latter supports the same refresh rate at a 21:9 aspect ratio.

A bunch of other futuristic displays could be found at Samsung’s floor, like a 6.9-inch Humanoid Display with eye-tracking suitable for robots and an AI OLED Pendant, to name a few. However, those seem like a distant future, while the high-refresh-rate OLEDs will likely be adopted sooner rather than later.
