A week ago, Samsung officially announced the rollout of One UI 9 based on Android 17 for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The update was initially available in South Korea only, but that changes today.
The Galaxy S26 trio is now receiving the One UI 9 update in the US as well. The first carrier versions to get it are T-Mobile’s. It arrives over-the-air as a 4.1GB download.
After installing the update, your phone will be running Android 17 with One UI 9, with the build number ending in “BZID”. Now that T-Mobile opened the floodgates, undoubtedly AT&T and Verizon will follow suit issuing their own versions of the update soon.
One UI 9 brings My FanCam, which lets you record a wide shot, then select a person in the video from Gallery so that Galaxy AI tracks their movements and reframes the footage into a subject-focused video in your chosen aspect ratio. Samsung also says you can create and edit Now Brief cards with generative AI, use Now Nudge with fewer steps, and expect improvements to Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder. There’s a new Warranty and Care menu in Settings, too.
