A thick white blanket of snow is covering the Southeast with airports working to come back online after thousands of flight cancelations as some parts of North Carolina experience more than a foot of the white stuff. 144 million people remain under cold weather alerts, the weeklong arctic blast is now claiming more than 100 lives.
