Tata Sierra EV – Launch Timeline, Expected Range, Battery & Features

Following several spy images, videos, official teasers and public display, the ICE-powered Tata Sierra finally went on sale in India on 25th November, 2025. Bookings were commenced on 15th December, and within 24 hours it gathered 70,000 orders. Deliveries are slated to begin in mid-January, 2026. Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch the electric iteration of the Sierra in the first half of 2026.

While official details of the Tata Sierra EV are yet to be revealed, here’s what we know and can expect from the upcoming model.

Tata Sierra 7-seater

Acti.ev Platform

Unlike its ICE-counterpart, which underpins the new ARGOS (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable Architecture), the Tata Sierra EV will be based on the Acti.ev platform. Tata’s Acti.ev architecture also underpins the Punch.ev, Curvv.ev and Harrier.ev. It supports multiple drivetrain systems and advanced technologies such as Level 2 ADAS, V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) functionalities and 5G connectivity.

Harrier EV-Sourced Powertrain

Tata Motors might use the Harrier EV’s 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs for the Sierra EV. The Harrier EV 65kWh variant comes with the RWD (rear-wheel drive) system and offers a claimed ARAI range of 538km per charge. The 75kWh battery pack version is available with both RWD and AWD (QWD) configurations, and promises a range of 627km and 622km, respectively. The Sierra EV is expected to offer a range of over 500km on a single charge.

EV-specific Changes

The Tata Sierra EV will retain the original silhouette and design language, but receive a few EV-specific cosmetic and software upgrades. It might feature a closed-off grille, aero-optimized alloy wheels, EV badging, a multi-like rear suspension and Arcade.ev app suite.

Most of the features will be carried over from its ICE-counterpart including a triple screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, JBL sound system, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charger, TPMS, ESC, a 360 degree camera, multiple airbags and more.
